Planning:
Do not permit the initial batch of soup adhere. Immediately after a couple of minutes it will not adhere. Look at it at the beginning.
one. In a two-quart soup pot, mix: cream soup, h2o, peppercorns/spices, finely diced onions, and cook until onions are very clear (½ an hour at a substantial simmer or to taste)
2. Add milk to thicken.
3. Include green beans and simmer for fifteen minutes. Add h2o to preferred thickness.
four. Add tomato and proceed simmering till tomatoes are smooth
Myself? I generally toast up fifty percent-a-loaf of garlic bread and use the soup as a topping

Finished Toffee (Recipe)

I created a batch of this toffee right ahead of Xmas to give as items, and it acquired raves all about. Creating candy at house is widely regarded "advanced" and "difficult." It really is actually not notably tough– I do not even use a thermometer and my candy usually arrives out fantastic. Just be courageous, stir-stir-stir, and smile when individuals shower you with awe and adulation on their very first style of toffee.
Tasty Crunchy Toffee
one lb. butter (four sticks, of course.)
three Tbsp. drinking water
two cups sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
one bag chocolate chips
one cup chopped or slivered nuts (almonds, pecans or walnuts)
Prepare a significant cookie sheet by lining it with waxed paper.
In a big skillet or pot, melt butter, h2o, sugar, and salt more than medium large heat. Stir constantly and swiftly with wooden spoon. Boil, stirring rapidly, right up until mixture starts off to switch a deep golden tan. I stirred for about 20 minutes before the mixture achieved the suitable tan shade, so limber up forward of time and settle in for a good deal of stirring. Swiftly remove from heat so as not to burn up the combination. Stir in the vanilla.
Pour combination into rimmed cookie sheet. Unfold it a small with a warmth-proof spatula to make sure it’s even. The pan will get Extremely scorching, so be cautious not to burn up oneself. Wait around five minutes, then sprinkle mixture with chocolate. When chocolate seems to be shiny, spread it out with a spatula. Then, sprinkle on the chopped nuts and press them into the melted chocolate with your hand.
Let the toffee cool for an hour or two, till it is thoroughly hard and the chocolate has solidified. Break it into bite-sized chunks and keep it in zip-lock baggies or airtight containers.

You are not able to see it in the scan, but the recipe ends on the back again of the card with: "cover pan. Bake @ 350 f for one hr"
This recipe was a favorite treat of my husband’s, growing up in Oklahoma.
My MIL writes all her recipes on index cards and files them in an outdated Campbell’s Soup tin. She realized how significantly my husband cherished this recipe and sent it to us in New Zealand. It has considering that grow to be a favourite of our household, neighbours and pals.
At Christmas time, we bake a number of extra loaves and give them as presents or get them together to neighbourhood get togethers.
What I love best about this recipe is that it provides me a little peek into my husband’s childhood and represents excellent instances and happy memories. Plus it really is tasty chilly with butter or hot with ice-cream!
